Change your Life with 4 Habits that every Successful Person has
From all the habits that I’ve developed in my life, these are the 4 habits that can actually change your life. Truth is, everything that concerns our lives is a matter of practice. From your morning routine before going to work, to the way you do things around the office, to your workout routine, you get through each and every day by doing the exact same things over and over again for a week. So, I believe that it’s safe to assume that it’s your habit that determines your success in anything you do. The thing is, it’s hard changing your habits out of nowhere because it is them that define your personality up to some point. One may argue though, that it is necessary if you want to progress in life. So, we have provided you with some good habits you should implement in your lifestyle, alongside some tips and tricks to accomplish that. Habits everyone must have:
Exercising regularly/Maintaining a healthy diet
You cannot maintain a healthy lifestyle if you don’t keep a healthy body. So, it essential for you to take care of yourself. A healthy mind only thrives inside a healthy body. Have you seen any happy obese people? Have you seen anyone be successful when they are always stressed out about their health issues? Well, unless you’re Stephen Hawking, then I don’t think so.
Keeping the negativity away/Positive thinking
You cannot accomplish any sort of progress or goal if you’re always being sidetracked by all the negativity in your life. Not only it’s holding you down, but it is also cutting your wings in the meantime as well to make sure that you will never be able to fly again. So, make it a habit not to interact too much with circumstances or individuals that you know are negative for your life.
Focusing on the task at hand and not getting sidetracked
This is something almost everyone is guilty of. You start a task, then get a notification on your phone, or you remember this other thing you want to do, or you start wondering about what you should eat for dinner. Then, you’ve almost reached the deadline while having made virtually zero progress and you end up doing the entire project in a short amount of time, and it ends up sloppy and poorly presented, but at least you watched that “How to send a pizza to outer space” video.
Treating others like you want to be treated.
If you want people to treat you with kindness and respect, then you have to treat them accordingly. If you focus every day to treat others around you in the best way possible, then you will see that in due time, you will be treated with kindness as well, thus building the relationships needed to sustain a successful lifestyle like the one you are planning to lead.
Tips to Implement these Habits in your Life
Tip no1: Actually, pay attention at the moment.
It has been scientifically proven that for a substantial portion of the day we tend to move automatically. That means that you do everything without actually paying attention to the moment, like a robot following commands. So, if you don’t actually pay enough attention to said moments so you can focus on what you’re doing and change it around the way you want it to be changed, then you won’t be able to change the habits involved with that behavior in any given time of day.
Tip no2: Incentivizing yourself to follow the plan.
Give yourself a reason to stick with the plan of changing your life around. Find something you love(I’m going to go with the easy answer of candy) and say “If I do X and Y that I know will help me accomplish my goal, or are applications of the things I’ve learned so far, then I can eat some candy.” Just like your parents did to you when you were younger, it still works! This is the beauty of the human brain when it comes to sugar, nobody is a grownup.
Tip no3: Make yourself understand how significant this change is for your life.
There is no other person that needs to understand the importance of applying the changes you want to see in your life more than you do. Find all the reasons why you want to change, maybe some scenarios that were some sort of a “Wake-up call” for you, or a goal you want to accomplish that requires you to change your life around, it could be whatever. Just state them and keep repeating them to yourself until you understand “why” you are going through all of this pain and hard work. Maybe even write these reasons down so you can continuously remind yourself why every time you require motivation.
Tip no4: Challenge yourself
You should always find new ways to raise the ceiling when it comes to the limits of your body and mind if you want to change. You’ve seen all these “30 days challenges” that are complete lies and don’t work? Well, you can make them work. Do you want to change your diet? Cool, then take a time frame and say “I will not eat anything besides my diet for this long, no cheat meals, no giving up, I’m doing this.” Do you want to get fit? Then challenge yourself to work out every single day, continually working harder, constantly doing more, constantly improving, without a single “Cheat day.” This is one of the most detrimental things you need to do to succeed.
