Friendship Quotes and Sayings

Throughout our lifetime we are able to run into many interesting individuals. These people that we meet bring their own unique talents to society and eventually turn into our friends. It is safe to say that we can think we have a lot of friends from all over the world thanks to the social networking technologies that we utilize daily. But how do you know that these people are really your true friends? They seem to be more like acquaintances. The true friends in your life aren’t lined up to call or email you every second of the day. We only really have one or a few true friends that lasts a lifetime. Family members will always be a friend based on blood; even if you didn’t grow up together the fact that you share the same bloodline or are attached to a certain family makes you a friend to kin. The friends that we aren’t related to are rare individuals that allow you to openly share your thoughts with little or no judgment.

These true friends will have an unconditional love and will support you even when things are rough; they stand by your side. It really doesn’t matter if you end up apart from a lifelong friend. Anytime you and a great friend can pick up on your relationship right where you left off without missing a beat, even if you have spent years away from each other. Friends don’t keep score either. There is never an eye for an eye in a true relationship. Great friends with lasting impressions and connections can lend out anything the other person needs without worrying about getting it back. A friend would not lend out money without trusting the other party to return the payment. And if the money lent is petty cash, friends don’t hold each other accountable for small amounts of money. Keeping score among acquaintances is more likely to happen than between friends. Trust is key in life long relationships. Most people with good friends can trust them to assist where needed and support family along the way. Many of those that serve their country in armed forces trust their friends to look over family when they are down range or in a deployed environment. Without this bond and trust, a true friendship will never exist. Friendship is not a popularity contest. Most people you meet in life will come and go; friends are the ones that ride the wave of life with you.
